São Tomé and Príncipe is an island country in west-central Africa, consisting of the islands of São Tomé and Príncipe and the surrounding islets, with the capital, São Tomé, located in the northeastern part of São Tomé. Located on the Gulf of Guinea, about 200 kilometers from the African continent, the country was colonized by Portugal in the 15th century and became independent in 1975, with Portuguese as the official language and an economy based on agriculture (cocoa, palm oil) and tourism. It should be noted that "Java" is not a city or region of the country; Java is the main island of Indonesia, with cities such as Jakarta and Surabaya, and has nothing to do with São Tomé and Príncipe, possibly due to a confusion of names.
Located in the southwestern part of China's Yunnan Province, Jindong Yi Autonomous County is part of Pu'er City, situated between the Lancang River and the Mourning Mountains, and is known for its rich natural landscapes and Yi culture. As an important ecological barrier in Yunnan, Jindong has a national-level nature reserve with outstanding biodiversity and is the habitat of rare plants and animals such as the black-crowned gibbon. With a mild climate, the area is rich in agricultural products such as tea and walnuts, and its economy is dominated by agriculture and tourism. The traditional culture of the Yi ethnic group in Jingdong is well preserved, and the Torch Festival and other folk events attract many tourists. Conveniently connected to neighboring cities by road, it is an ideal destination for exploring the nature and humanity of southwestern Yunnan.
