São Tomé and Príncipe is an island country in west-central Africa, consisting of the islands of São Tomé and Príncipe and the surrounding islets, with the capital, São Tomé, located in the northeastern part of São Tomé. Located on the Gulf of Guinea, about 200 kilometers from the African continent, the country was colonized by Portugal in the 15th century and became independent in 1975, with Portuguese as the official language and an economy based on agriculture (cocoa, palm oil) and tourism. It should be noted that "Java" is not a city or region of the country; Java is the main island of Indonesia, with cities such as Jakarta and Surabaya, and has nothing to do with São Tomé and Príncipe, possibly due to a confusion of names.
Gogrial is an important town in the northern part of Central Equatoria State, South Sudan. Located in the west-central part of the country near a tributary of the White Nile River, Gogrial is the administrative, commercial and agricultural center of the surrounding region. As one of the main settlements in the area, Gogrial has a predominantly agrarian economy, producing crops such as sorghum and maize, with livestock also playing an important role. The town has basic market, school and medical facilities and is a key node connecting the surrounding villages to the regional transportation network. While South Sudan's overall infrastructure is still developing, Gogrial, by virtue of its location and resources, plays an important role in the regional development of Central Equatoria and is an important window into South Sudan's local culture and livelihoods.
