Sevan is a small town in the Armenian province of Gegharkunik, located in the eastern part of the country on the shores of Lake Sevan, about 66 kilometers from the capital city of Yerevan. The town is famous for its eponymous alpine lake, Lake Sevan, one of the largest freshwater lakes in Eurasia, at an altitude of about 1,900 meters above sea level, which is known as the "Pearl of Armenia".
Lake Sevan is surrounded by magnificent landscapes and crystal clear waters, making it an important tourist and recreational destination in Armenia. The town boasts historical monuments such as the Sevan Monastery, a 9th-century monastery situated on a peninsula overlooking the lake, which attracts many tourists and pilgrims. The local economy is based on fishing, tourism and agriculture, and the climate is cool enough for summer vacations.
With a population of around 20,000, the town of Sevan retains its traditional Armenian culture, while the infrastructure is constantly being improved to provide accommodation and catering services. It is an ideal starting point for exploring the nature and history of the Caucasus and is easily accessible for short trips.
Xinjian is a municipal district under the jurisdiction of Nanchang City, Jiangxi Province, located in East China, on the southwestern shore of Poyang Lake. As an important part of Nanchang City, Xinjian District has a long history, having been founded in the Western Han Dynasty, with a history of more than 2,200 years of establishment. With a total area of about 2,190 square kilometers and a population of about 700,000 (2020 data), the area is predominantly Han Chinese, with a dialect of Gan.
The economy of Xinjian District is based on agriculture, industry and tourism, producing agricultural products such as rice and rape, and gradually developing industries such as electronic information and equipment manufacturing. The area is rich in tourism resources, including famous scenic spots such as Xishan Wanshou Palace, Wangshan Tukou and other historical and cultural relics, as well as the ecological landscape of Poyang Lake wetland. The transportation is convenient, connecting to the whole country through the Nanchang subway, highway and Nanchang Changbei International Airport. With its deep cultural heritage and rapid urbanization, Xinjian District has become one of the important economic and cultural nodes in Jiangxi.
