Located in the western part of Chongqing Municipality, China, Bishan District is an important part of Chongqing's main city metropolitan area. With a total area of 915 square kilometers and a population of about 750,000, the area is named after the "white stone from the mountain, bright and moist as a jade".
Bishan is an important modern manufacturing base in Chongqing, focusing on the development of electronic information, intelligent manufacturing and health industries. Bishan Hi-Tech Industrial Development Zone, a state-level high-tech zone, has attracted many famous enterprises.
Bishan is known as a "small but beautiful" ecological city, with many city parks such as Xiuhu Park and Fengxiang Lake Children's Park, and has been awarded the title of National Ecological Civilization Construction Demonstration Zone. Natural landscapes such as Qinglong Lake and Baiyun Lake complement the cultural relics of ancient stagecoach routes.
Bishan District is conveniently located only 40 kilometers away from the core area of the main city of Chongqing, with a number of major transportation routes such as the Chengdu-Chongqing Loop Expressway and the Yu-Suizhou Expressway running through the whole area, and the Railway Transit Line 1 directly connecting to the central city of Chongqing.
Sevan is a small town in the Armenian province of Gegharkunik, located in the eastern part of the country on the shores of Lake Sevan, about 66 kilometers from the capital city of Yerevan. The town is famous for its eponymous alpine lake, Lake Sevan, one of the largest freshwater lakes in Eurasia, at an altitude of about 1,900 meters above sea level, which is known as the "Pearl of Armenia".
Lake Sevan is surrounded by magnificent landscapes and crystal clear waters, making it an important tourist and recreational destination in Armenia. The town boasts historical monuments such as the Sevan Monastery, a 9th-century monastery situated on a peninsula overlooking the lake, which attracts many tourists and pilgrims. The local economy is based on fishing, tourism and agriculture, and the climate is cool enough for summer vacations.
With a population of around 20,000, the town of Sevan retains its traditional Armenian culture, while the infrastructure is constantly being improved to provide accommodation and catering services. It is an ideal starting point for exploring the nature and history of the Caucasus and is easily accessible for short trips.
