São Tomé and Príncipe is an island country in west-central Africa, consisting of the islands of São Tomé and Príncipe and the surrounding islets, with the capital, São Tomé, located in the northeastern part of São Tomé. Located on the Gulf of Guinea, about 200 kilometers from the African continent, the country was colonized by Portugal in the 15th century and became independent in 1975, with Portuguese as the official language and an economy based on agriculture (cocoa, palm oil) and tourism. It should be noted that "Java" is not a city or region of the country; Java is the main island of Indonesia, with cities such as Jakarta and Surabaya, and has nothing to do with São Tomé and Príncipe, possibly due to a confusion of names.
Located in the southern part of Shanxi Province, China, Yicheng is a county with a long history and is part of Linfen City. It is located in the Jinnan Basin, with a mild climate and well-developed agriculture, which is dominated by the cultivation of crops such as wheat and corn. With a long history dating back to the Spring and Autumn Period, Yicheng was once an important city of the State of Jin, and boasts a rich cultural heritage, such as the Yicheng Temple of Literature and a cluster of ancient buildings from the Tang Dynasty.
Its economy is based on agriculture and traditional industries, and in recent years it has been gradually developing its tourism industry, attracting tourists to explore its historical sites and natural beauty. Yicheng has a simple folk culture and is conveniently connected to major cities in Shanxi Province by road and rail. Overall, Yicheng is a peaceful little town that blends history and modernity for culture lovers and travelers looking for an Authentic experience.
