Same, the capital of Timor-Leste's Ainaro District, is located about 50 kilometers south of the capital, Dili, in the mountainous interior and is an important agricultural and transportation hub for the country. It is known for its coffee farming, surrounded by terraced fields that produce Timor-Leste's premium Arabica coffee beans. Historically, Samu was an important stronghold during Timor-Leste's War of Independence, and remnants of the resistance movement still remain in the area, attracting history buffs to explore. Ershui Township is located in the southeastern tip of Changhua County, Taiwan Province of China, on the alluvial plain of the Turbid Water Creek, with an area of 29.44 square kilometers. The township is named for its location at the confluence of the Turbid Water Creek and its tributaries, and is the starting point of the Taiwan Railway's Jijie Line. The area is mainly agricultural, producing white pomelo, pearl barley and other agricultural products, of which the "Ershui White Pomelo" is a well-known specialty in Taiwan. There are historical and cultural relics such as the national monument Mr. Lin Temple and the Bapu Canal Water Conservancy Project, and it is also an important gateway to the Bagua Mountain Scenic Area. The annual Water Running Festival held in Ershui Township has become an important celebration for the inheritance of water conservancy culture and the promotion of tourism.
Ershui Station, as the starting point of the Jiji Railway, carries important transportation and sightseeing functions. Visitors can transfer to the Jiji Line from here to go to Turbid Water, Checheng, and other sightseeing sites. The township has a comprehensive bicycle path system, allowing visitors to ride along the Bapu Canal waterway, orchards and the natural scenery of the Bagua Mountain foothills. Ershui Township combines agricultural experience with railroad sightseeing to form unique rural tourism characteristics, making it an ideal destination for experiencing the culture and natural ecology of the central Taiwan plains.
