São Tomé and Príncipe is an island country in west-central Africa, consisting of the islands of São Tomé and Príncipe and the surrounding islets, with the capital, São Tomé, located in the northeastern part of São Tomé. Located on the Gulf of Guinea, about 200 kilometers from the African continent, the country was colonized by Portugal in the 15th century and became independent in 1975, with Portuguese as the official language and an economy based on agriculture (cocoa, palm oil) and tourism. It should be noted that "Java" is not a city or region of the country; Java is the main island of Indonesia, with cities such as Jakarta and Surabaya, and has nothing to do with São Tomé and Príncipe, possibly due to a confusion of names.
Mulan County is located in the northeastern part of Harbin City, Heilongjiang Province, China, on the north bank of the middle reaches of the Songhua River, and belongs to the county under the jurisdiction of Harbin City. Total area of 3600 square kilometers, population of about 250,000 people. It is located in the transition zone between the remaining veins of the Xiaoxinganling Mountains and the Songnen Plain, with the terrain high in the north and low in the south, and the forest coverage rate exceeding 50%, rich in natural resources, producing timber, mountain products and green agricultural products.
Mulan County has a long history, set up in the Qing Dynasty during the reign of Emperor Guangxu, named after the Mulanda River within its borders. The economy is based on agriculture, focusing on the development of rice, corn and soybean cultivation, as well as animal husbandry and forestry. In recent years, it has been actively promoting eco-tourism, featuring the natural scenery of the Xiaoxinganling Mountains and red cultural resources. The transportation is convenient, with the Hatong Expressway running through the whole territory, about 120 kilometers away from downtown Harbin.
The county has four distinct seasons, with long, cold winters, mild and rainy summers, and an average annual temperature of 2.6℃. The main attractions include Xiangmashan Scenic Spot, Jigong Mountain Scenic Spot and Mulanda River Wetland, which are suitable for eco-tourism and leisure vacation.
