São Tomé and Príncipe is an island country in west-central Africa, consisting of the islands of São Tomé and Príncipe and the surrounding islets, with the capital, São Tomé, located in the northeastern part of São Tomé. Located on the Gulf of Guinea, about 200 kilometers from the African continent, the country was colonized by Portugal in the 15th century and became independent in 1975, with Portuguese as the official language and an economy based on agriculture (cocoa, palm oil) and tourism. It should be noted that "Java" is not a city or region of the country; Java is the main island of Indonesia, with cities such as Jakarta and Surabaya, and has nothing to do with São Tomé and Príncipe, possibly due to a confusion of names.
Petrila is located in the southwestern part of Romania, in the county of Hunedoara, in the southern foothills of the Western Carpathians, and is one of the most important mining towns in the Transylvania region. Famous for its rich coal and mineral resources, the city was historically one of the core areas of Romania's energy industry and has a deep mining culture. The city is surrounded by a beautiful natural landscape and is close to the Parâng mountain range, which makes it suitable for outdoor adventures. With a population of about 28,000 (recent figures), the area has retained its traditional mining community lifestyle, blending Romanian culture with traces of its multi-ethnic past. Despite the transformation of the mining industry in recent years, Petrila remains an important part of the economy and livelihood of Hunedoara County, attracting tourists interested in industrial history and natural beauty.
