São Tomé and Príncipe is an island country in west-central Africa, consisting of the islands of São Tomé and Príncipe and the surrounding islets, with the capital, São Tomé, located in the northeastern part of São Tomé. Located on the Gulf of Guinea, about 200 kilometers from the African continent, the country was colonized by Portugal in the 15th century and became independent in 1975, with Portuguese as the official language and an economy based on agriculture (cocoa, palm oil) and tourism. It should be noted that "Java" is not a city or region of the country; Java is the main island of Indonesia, with cities such as Jakarta and Surabaya, and has nothing to do with São Tomé and Príncipe, possibly due to a confusion of names.
Hvolsvöllur, a quiet town in the south of Iceland, is located along the Ring Road, about 120 kilometers from the capital city of Reykjavík, making it an ideal gateway for exploring the south of Iceland. Although small, the town is known for its unique geothermal landscape and rich nature experience. The nearby Hvolsvöllur Hot Springs, with its multiple natural geothermal pools and warm water, is a perfect place to relax, while the famous "False Waterfall" (Fjaðrárgljúfur Canyon) is not a waterfall, but is a photographer's paradise, with its deep canyon and emerald green water. It is a paradise for photographers. In addition, outdoor activities such as glacier hiking and volcano exploration can be experienced around the town, along with Iceland's unique geothermal culture. Far from the hustle and bustle, Hofors retains Iceland's pristine natural landscape, making it a must-visit for travelers looking for a deeper experience of Icelandic nature.
