São Tomé and Príncipe is an island country in west-central Africa, consisting of the islands of São Tomé and Príncipe and the surrounding islets, with the capital, São Tomé, located in the northeastern part of São Tomé. Located on the Gulf of Guinea, about 200 kilometers from the African continent, the country was colonized by Portugal in the 15th century and became independent in 1975, with Portuguese as the official language and an economy based on agriculture (cocoa, palm oil) and tourism. It should be noted that "Java" is not a city or region of the country; Java is the main island of Indonesia, with cities such as Jakarta and Surabaya, and has nothing to do with São Tomé and Príncipe, possibly due to a confusion of names.
Malthuscara is a coastal town in southeastern Malta, located in the center of the Mediterranean Sea, about 12 kilometers from the capital city of Valletta. It is known for its picturesque harbor, historical sites and tourist facilities and is one of the most popular vacation destinations in Malta.
The town is situated on the shores of the Gulf of Malthuscara and enjoys a mild Mediterranean climate with warm, dry summers and mild, rainy winters. Its natural harbor provides ideal conditions for water sports and attracts many tourists to enjoy the sun and beaches.
The history of Malthuscara dates back to Roman times and was later fortified by the Knights of St. John in the Middle Ages. The town retains ancient fortifications and churches, such as St. Thomas Tower, reflecting its strategic position. The local culture is a blend of Maltese traditions and Mediterranean flavors, with festivals and fairs held throughout the year.
The economy is largely dependent on tourism, with numerous hotels, restaurants and entertainment facilities. Malthuscara Harbor is a mooring point for yachts and fishing boats, offering activities such as diving and boating. It is also a convenient base for exploring the other attractions of the island of Malta.
