São Tomé and Príncipe is an island country in west-central Africa, consisting of the islands of São Tomé and Príncipe and the surrounding islets, with the capital, São Tomé, located in the northeastern part of São Tomé. Jiande City is located in the western part of Zhejiang Province, China, under the jurisdiction of Hangzhou City, upstream of the Qiantang River, in the hilly and mountainous region of western Zhejiang. It has a total area of 2,321 square kilometers and a population of about 440,000 people. Jiande is known as the "city of mountains and water", with the water systems of Xin'an River, Fuchun River and Lanjiang River, and has a humid climate and excellent ecological environment, which is a national key ecological functional area.

The local specialties include white lotus in Liye, Yanzhou shortcake, and Wugapi wine, etc. The local folk culture retains the traditional characteristics of Yanzhou Prefecture, which was awarded "China's first livable city in terms of climate" in 2018, and is an important eco-tourism destination in the Yangtze River Delta region.
