São Tomé and Príncipe is an island country in west-central Africa, consisting of the islands of São Tomé and Príncipe and the surrounding islets, with the capital, São Tomé, located in the northeastern part of São Tomé. Located on the Gulf of Guinea, about 200 kilometers from the African continent, the country was colonized by Portugal in the 15th century and became independent in 1975, with Portuguese as the official language and an economy based on agriculture (cocoa, palm oil) and tourism. It should be noted that "Java" is not a city or region of the country; Java is the main island of Indonesia, with cities such as Jakarta and Surabaya, and has nothing to do with São Tomé and Príncipe, possibly due to a confusion of names.
Located in the northeastern part of Sanya City, Hainan Province, China, Haitang District is the core area of the International Tourism Island Advance Pilot Zone, covering a total area of about 384 square kilometers. Named after Haitang Bay, the zone boasts 22 kilometers of tropical coastline and brings together more than 30 high-end resort hotels such as Atlantis and Yanlord Crowne Plaza, as well as landmark projects such as Sanya International Duty Free City. As a key park of Hainan Free Trade Port, it focuses on the development of tourism, modern service industry and high-tech industry. With an average annual temperature of 25°C, it has high quality natural resources for water sports, exhibition and wedding, and medical care and recuperation. Its "National Coast" positioning highlights the integration of ecological and high-end tourism development, and is an important growth pole of the Qiongnan Economic Circle.
