Sevan is a small town in the Armenian province of Gegharkunik, located in the eastern part of the country on the shores of Lake Sevan, about 66 kilometers from the capital city of Yerevan. The town is famous for its eponymous alpine lake, Lake Sevan, one of the largest freshwater lakes in Eurasia, at an altitude of about 1,900 meters above sea level, which is known as the "Pearl of Armenia".
Lake Sevan is surrounded by magnificent landscapes and crystal clear waters, making it an important tourist and recreational destination in Armenia. The town boasts historical monuments such as the Sevan Monastery, a 9th-century monastery situated on a peninsula overlooking the lake, which attracts many tourists and pilgrims. The local economy is based on fishing, tourism and agriculture, and the climate is cool enough for summer vacations.
With a population of around 20,000, the town of Sevan retains its traditional Armenian culture, while the infrastructure is constantly being improved to provide accommodation and catering services. It is an ideal starting point for exploring the nature and history of the Caucasus and is easily accessible for short trips.
Located in Tongchuan City, Shaanxi Province, China, in the transition zone between the Guanzhong Plain and the Loess Plateau in northern Shaanxi, Yaozhou District is an ancient place name with a long history. Its name began in the Tang Dynasty, and it is famous for the production of Yaozhou porcelain (Yaozhou Kiln) in its territory, which is one of the important birthplaces of ancient Chinese ceramic culture. Yaozhou Kiln is famous for its celadon, which reached its peak in the Song Dynasty, and is regarded as the representative of northern celadon, with far-reaching influence on Chinese and foreign ceramic art.
With a total area of about 1,617 square kilometers and a population of about 300,000, the district has a temperate continental monsoon climate with four distinct seasons. The economy is dominated by agriculture, energy and tourism, producing agricultural products such as apples and walnuts, and rich in coal resources. The transportation is convenient, with Baomao Expressway and National Highway 210 passing through the city, and Xi'an Xianyang International Airport is about 1 hour's drive away.
It is rich in cultural tourism resources, with attractions such as the Medicine King Mountain (the hermitage of Sun Simiao), Yaozhou Kiln Museum, and Daxiangshan Temple, integrating ceramic culture, medicine culture and Buddhist culture. Listed as a National Famous Historical and Cultural City, Yaozhou is an important destination for experiencing the deep humanistic heritage of Shaanxi.
