Sevan is a small town in the Armenian province of Gegharkunik, located in the eastern part of the country on the shores of Lake Sevan, about 66 kilometers from the capital city of Yerevan. The town is famous for its eponymous alpine lake, Lake Sevan, one of the largest freshwater lakes in Eurasia, at an altitude of about 1,900 meters above sea level, which is known as the "Pearl of Armenia".
Lake Sevan is surrounded by magnificent landscapes and crystal clear waters, making it an important tourist and recreational destination in Armenia. The town boasts historical monuments such as the Sevan Monastery, a 9th-century monastery situated on a peninsula overlooking the lake, which attracts many tourists and pilgrims. The local economy is based on fishing, tourism and agriculture, and the climate is cool enough for summer vacations.
With a population of around 20,000, the town of Sevan retains its traditional Armenian culture, while the infrastructure is constantly being improved to provide accommodation and catering services. It is an ideal starting point for exploring the nature and history of the Caucasus and is easily accessible for short trips.
Shunping County, belonging to Baoding City, Hebei Province, is located in the central and western part of Hebei Province, at the eastern foot of the Taihang Mountains, in the transition zone from the central Hebei Plain to the Taihang Mountains, neighboring Baoding City in the east, Fuping in the west, looking south to Tang County, and connecting Yixian County in the north, with a remarkable locational advantage. Anciently, it was a part of Yan and Zhao, and the Western Han Dynasty set up the Qu Reverse County, which was later changed to Shunping County in 1993 with the approval of the State Council, taking the meaning of "Shunhutian, Pingchengdi", which implies peace and smoothness. It is the "Hometown of Chinese Apples", with a long history of apple cultivation, and the "Shunping Apples" are famous for their bright color, crisp and sweet taste, and are the National Geographical Indication products, with distinctive characteristics of agricultural industrialization. The Wang's Manor in Waishan is a large-scale ancient architectural complex in the Qing Dynasty, a national key cultural relics protection unit, known as the "Forbidden City in the North", with a profound historical and cultural background. In recent years, Shunping County has relied on ecological agriculture and cultural tourism resources to promote the revitalization of the countryside and gradually build a modern county that is pleasant to live and work in.
