São Tomé and Príncipe is an island country in west-central Africa, consisting of the islands of São Tomé and Príncipe and the surrounding islets, with the capital, São Tomé, located in the northeastern part of São Tomé. Located on the Gulf of Guinea, about 200 kilometers from the African continent, the country was colonized by Portugal in the 15th century and became independent in 1975, with Portuguese as the official language and an economy based on agriculture (cocoa, palm oil) and tourism. It should be noted that "Java" is not a city or region of the country; Java is the main island of Indonesia, with cities such as Jakarta and Surabaya, and has nothing to do with São Tomé and Príncipe, possibly due to a confusion of names.
Located in New Taipei City, Taiwan, Wulai is a settlement of the Atayal aboriginal people and is known as the "Township of Hot Springs". Surrounded by mountains, Wulai is rich in hot springs and has delicate sulfur springs, attracting tourists to experience the fun of soaking in the hot springs. The Wulai Waterfall, the core attraction, has a magnificent view of the mountains from the aerial cable car, and is accompanied by suspension bridges and walking trails, creating a fusion of natural ecology and humanistic landscapes. Wulai Old Street retains its aboriginal flavor, with special snacks such as bamboo rice and mountain pork dishes. Conveniently accessible by the Taipei Metro, Wulai Old Street is an excellent place for Taipei residents to spend their weekends relaxing and getting close to nature, combining aboriginal cultural heritage with the charm of mountains and hot springs, making it an important sightseeing destination in northern Taiwan.
