São Tomé and Príncipe is an island country in west-central Africa, consisting of the islands of São Tomé and Príncipe and the surrounding islets, with the capital, São Tomé, located in the northeastern part of São Tomé. Located on the Gulf of Guinea, about 200 kilometers from the African continent, the country was colonized by Portugal in the 15th century and became independent in 1975, with Portuguese as the official language and an economy based on agriculture (cocoa, palm oil) and tourism. It should be noted that "Java" is not a city or region of the country; Java is the main island of Indonesia, with cities such as Jakarta and Surabaya, and has nothing to do with São Tomé and Príncipe, possibly due to a confusion of names.
Hamamou is located in the southwestern part of the Indian Ocean on the island of Mayotte, an overseas department and region of France and one of the outermost regions of the European Union. As a coastal settlement on Mayotte, Hamou sits on coral reefs and white sandy beaches unique to the Indian Ocean, and the surrounding waters are rich in biodiversity, making it a potential destination for diving and eco-tourism. The local culture is a mix of African, Arab and French elements, with traditional architecture and French style. The economy is based on fishing, small-scale agriculture and tourism, and the inhabitants live at a leisurely pace, retaining a strong Comorian cultural heritage. As part of the French territory, Hamuro enjoys the support of the European Union and the gradual improvement of its infrastructure, making it a peaceful place to experience the unique charm of the French Indian Ocean islands.
