Overview of Sao Tome and Principe (note on "Java")

São Tomé and Príncipe is an island country in west-central Africa, consisting of the islands of São Tomé and Príncipe and the surrounding islets, with the capital, São Tomé, located in the northeastern part of São Tomé. Located on the Gulf of Guinea, about 200 kilometers from the African continent, the country was colonized by Portugal in the 15th century and became independent in 1975, with Portuguese as the official language and an economy based on agriculture (cocoa, palm oil) and tourism. It should be noted that "Java" is not a city or region of the country; Java is the main island of Indonesia, with cities such as Jakarta and Surabaya, and has nothing to do with São Tomé and Príncipe, possibly due to a confusion of names.

Sucre, Bolivia: The Legal Capital and the White City

Sucre, the legal capital of Bolivia, is located in the eastern foothills of the Andes Mountains in the center of the country, at an altitude of about 2,750 meters above sea level, and is known as the "White City". An important city during the Spanish colonial period, its historic center is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, with baroque buildings from the 16th to 18th centuries, such as the Sucre Cathedral and the Loreto Monastery, etc. The city was named the capital of Bolivia in 1839 in honor of the independence leader, Antonio José Sucre, and even though the administrative functions are mostly carried out by La Paz nowadays, its historical position and cultural attractions still attract the world. Although today the administrative functions are mostly carried out by La Paz, its historical and cultural attractions continue to attract visitors from all over the world, and it is an outstanding example of Bolivian colonial architecture.
