São Tomé and Príncipe is an island country in west-central Africa, consisting of the islands of São Tomé and Príncipe and the surrounding islets, with the capital, São Tomé, located in the northeastern part of São Tomé. Located on the Gulf of Guinea, about 200 kilometers from the African continent, the country was colonized by Portugal in the 15th century and became independent in 1975, with Portuguese as the official language and an economy based on agriculture (cocoa, palm oil) and tourism. It should be noted that "Java" is not a city or region of the country; Java is the main island of Indonesia, with cities such as Jakarta and Surabaya, and has nothing to do with São Tomé and Príncipe, possibly due to a confusion of names.
Kinshasa, the capital of the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC), is located on the Congo River and is one of the largest cities in Central Africa, as well as a political, economic, and cultural center with a busy Mano River port and a rich musical culture. The second largest city, Lubumbashi, is a mining town, surrounded by copper and cobalt ores, and is known as the "Copper Capital". Kisangani is located in the upper reaches of the Congo River, is an important river port and trade hub, the rainforest landscape is unique. These cities epitomize the resources and development of the DRC.
Suva, the capital of Fiji, is located in the southeastern part of the island of Viti Levu, and is a Pacific island transportation and commercial hub with a deep-water port and colonial-era architecture and a multicultural mix. The second largest city, Lautoka, is known for its sugar industry and tourism and is surrounded by coral reefs and sugar cane plantations. Nadi is home to an international air port and is close to the famous vacation island of Danaanu, which is the main gateway for tourists into Fiji. These cities blend Fiji's natural beauty with a South Pacific flavor.
