Taojiang County, belonging to Yiyang City, Hunan Province, China, is located in the north of central Hunan and the middle and lower reaches of Zishui River, named after the Peach Blossom River within its territory. It has a total area of 2,068 square kilometers and a population of about 890,000 people. Taojiang is known as the "Beauty Nest", the "Hometown of Bamboo Sea" and the "Second Hometown of Qu Yuan", and is an important eco-tourism destination in Hunan Province.
The terrain of Taojiang is mainly hilly and mountainous, with the Zishui River running through the city, a humid climate and rich natural resources. It is a nationally recognized hometown of bamboo forests, and bamboo products are exported overseas. Culturally, Taojiang has inherited the essence of Chu culture, and it is said that Qu Yuan once lived here to create his works, and there are historical relics such as the Tianwen Terrace. The local folk song "Peach Blossom River is the nest of beauty" has made Taojiang famous all over the world.
Taojiang is rich in tourism resources, with natural attractions such as the Peach Blossom River Bamboo Sea, Fuqiu Mountain and Luoxi Waterfall, as well as humanistic landscapes such as the Qu Yuan Cultural Park. The economy is based on agriculture, bamboo product processing and tourism, and it is the production base of bamboo plywood in China and the key county of grain and oil production in Hunan Province. In recent years, Taojiang has actively developed a green economy and promoted the integration of ecological and cultural industries.
