Sylhet is an important city in northeastern Bangladesh, located on the border of the Indian state of Meghalaya, and is the capital of the Sylhet district. The city is famous for its lush tea plantations and unique natural landscape, and is known as the "Tea Capital of Bangladesh", surrounded by famous tea plantations such as Marni Tea Plantation, which produces Sylheti Tea that is famous all over the world. In addition, the Jaflong Waterfalls are a local landmark, with their crystal clear streams and the surrounding green hills forming a stunning landscape. Sylhet also retains a rich cultural heritage, with a distinctive local language, Sylheti, and a population known for its warm hospitality.
