Introduction to Sevan, Armenia

Sevan is a small town in the Armenian province of Gegharkunik, located in the eastern part of the country on the shores of Lake Sevan, about 66 kilometers from the capital city of Yerevan. It has a dry climate, with cold winters and mild summers, and a unique mountain-steppe landscape. Despite its small size, as a transportation hub connecting Kyrgyzstan and China, Przhevalsk plays an important role in regional economic and cultural exchanges, and the local residents are mostly engaged in farming and cross-border trade, retaining a strong Kyrgyz traditional flavor.
