Introduction to Dochula Pass, Bhutan

Dochula Pass in Bhutan is a famous mountain pass in western Bhutan, about 3,150 meters above sea level, connecting the capital city of Thimphu with the Punakha Valley, and is an important transportation and tourist attraction in Bhutan. The most striking feature here is the cluster of 108 white stupas called Druk Wangyal Chortens, built in 2004 to commemorate Bhutan's victory over the insurgents. Each stupa enshrines a Buddha image and scriptures, symbolizing peace and tranquility in Bhutan. On a clear day, Domkha offers a magnificent view of the Himalayan mountain range, including peaks such as Gangchendzongkhar Peak, and the four seasons: rhododendrons in full bloom in the spring, forests in autumn, and occasional snowfalls in winter. It is not only a paradise for photographers, but also an important place of pilgrimage and blessing for the local people, blending natural beauty with religious culture, making it a must-visit place to experience the spirit of Bhutan.
