Located in the region of Bouclemou in western Burkina Faso, Ouessa is a small town near the Ivorian border that attracts visitors with its unique location and local culture. As a regional trade node, Ouessa connects the interior of Burkina Faso with neighboring countries, and the market is dominated by agricultural products, with cotton, groundnuts, and millet being the main cash crops of the region.
It retains the tranquil atmosphere of a traditional West African village, with a population that includes Gurma and Bobo ethnic groups, and where the daily language is a mix of French and local ethnic languages.
