Ruby is a small incorporated town in Tangipahoa Parish, Louisiana, United States, located about 60 miles northeast of the state capital of Baton Rouge and adjacent to the Mississippi border, and characterized by a quiet rural atmosphere and a deep community culture. Sparsely populated, with fewer than 500 people according to the most recent census, the town dates back to the late 1800s and, with its early rise to an agricultural economy (e.g., cotton and soybean farming), still retains the rustic look of a traditional Southern town. The town's landmarks include a century-old community church and several Victorian-style homes, and the annual fall "Ruby Family Day," which blends elements of local Cajun and Creole culture, has become a shared memory for the surrounding residents. Despite its small size, Ruby epitomizes the serenity of the American countryside with its simple folk and distinctive Louisiana southern flavor.
Located on the northern coast of New Taipei City, Taiwan, Jinshan is an important tourist town on the north coast. There are the famous Jinshan Hot Springs, Sulphur Harbor Fishing Harbor and Yehliu Geopark, of which the Yehliu Queen's Head is an international-level natural wonder. Jinshan Old Street retains the traditional Minnan architectural style and is famous for selling specialty snacks such as groundnut and duck meat. With its location on the back of the mountains and facing the sea, it combines seaside scenery with the green mountains of Yangmingshan National Park, attracting a large number of tourists for sightseeing and vacation every year.
The Jinshan area is rich in geothermal resources, and the hot springs are acidic sulfur salt springs with health benefits. The Juming Museum of Art is located here and displays a large number of outdoor sculptures. The annual "Jinshan Bunghuai" held on the Mid-Yuan Festival is an ancient fishing technique that has been passed down for centuries and is listed as one of Taiwan's intangible cultural assets. The neighboring trails, such as King Kong Mountain and Lion's Head Mountain, offer views of the East China Sea, making it an important eco-tourism destination in Northern Taiwan.
