Introduction to Seven Stocks, Taiwan, China
Located in the western coastal area of Tainan City, Taiwan Province of China, Qigu is home to the largest lagoon ecosystem in Taiwan. With the famous Qigu Lagoon (also known as the Taijiang Inland Sea) and extensive salt flat wetlands, it is an important ecological conservation area in Taiwan. The Seven Stocks Salt Mountain is a landmark landscape in the area, and was once an important source of salt for Taiwan's salt industry. Mangrove forests, migratory bird habitats and the Black-faced Spoonbill Conservation Area in the area constitute rich biodiversity, attracting a large number of eco-tourism and bird-watching enthusiasts every year. It also retains the traditional fishing village culture and oyster farming industry, making it a representative area for experiencing Taiwan's coastal humanities and natural landscapes.
