Located in the southeastern part of China's Sichuan Province, Lu County is part of Luzhou City, situated at the confluence of the Yangtze River and the Tuojiang River, and is an important node of the South Sichuan Economic Zone. The county has a total area of about 1,532 square kilometers and a population of about 1.07 million. As a major agricultural county in Sichuan, Lu County is famous for rice, longan and hog farming, and also holds the title of "Hometown of Chinese Dragon Culture".
Lu County has a long history, with national key cultural relics protection units such as the Longmenqiao Bridge and the Yuzhanshan Cliff Statue. The annual "Dragon Culture Festival" is a unique folklore tradition. Natural landscapes such as Yulong Lake and Haichao Lake and the art of Song Dynasty stone carvings form a cultural and tourism fusion, making it an important cultural destination in southern Sichuan.
Lu County has initially formed three leading industries, namely, liquor supporting, green building materials, medicine and health, of which Lu County liquor industrial park provides important industrial chain support for Luzhou Laojiao. The construction of the twin-city economic circle in the Chengdu-Chongqing region has driven the development of local rail transportation, modern agriculture and trade and logistics, and the G76 Xiamen-Rongshan Expressway and the Yukun High Speed Railway have strengthened the position of the regional transportation hub.
