Xiuying is one of the main districts of Haikou, Hainan Province, located in the northern part of Hainan Island, bordering the Qiongzhou Strait, and is the political, economic and cultural center area of Haikou. The district gets its name from the historic Xiuying Harbor, an important shipping hub in Hainan that connects mainland China with Southeast Asia. With its tropical coastal scenery and warm, humid climate with an average annual temperature of about 24°C, Xiuying District is suitable for tourism and residence.
Attractions in the district include the Crater Geopark, Holiday Beach and Xixiu Beach, which attract a large number of tourists. The economy is dominated by tourism, port logistics and services, while focusing on ecological protection. Xiuying is conveniently connected to the country via Haikou Meilan International Airport and the high-speed rail network. As part of the construction of the Hainan Free Trade Port, Xiuying is developing rapidly, emphasizing its strategic importance.
