Located in the central part of Yilan County, Taiwan, China, Luodong Township is the most densely populated industrial and commercial town in Yilan County. The town has a total area of about 11.34 square kilometers and is located in the southeastern part of the Lanyang Plain, about 60 kilometers from Taipei City. The Luodong River and the Dongshan River run through the whole area, forming a unique alluvial fan terrain.

The Luodong Night Market is one of the most representative sightseeing night markets in Taiwan, famous for such delicacies as mutton soup, baoxin vermicelli dumplings and three-star scallion pancakes. The town has important cultural and recreational facilities such as the Luodong Forestry Culture Park and the Luodong Sports Park, which have completely preserved the history of forestry development during the Japanese colonial period.
