Thiès, the third largest city in Senegal, is located about 70 kilometers east of the capital Dakar and is the capital of the Thiès region. This strategically important city connects Dakar to the interior of Senegal and is one of the country's transportation and logistics centers, with several major highways intersecting. Thiès is also Senegal's main economic center, with a strong agricultural sector and a reputation for peanut cultivation and processing, earning it the nickname of "Peanut Capital". The city is a blend of tradition and modernity, with a unique local craft market that attracts tourists and neighborhood vendors. As a multi-ethnic area, the city is a window to the culture and development of the central region of Senegal, where the Wolof, Serer and other ethnic groups have mingled to form a unique folklore.
Mapulaca is a small, quiet town in the Valle department of western Honduras, about 120 kilometers southwest of the capital city of Tegucigalpa, in the transition zone between the volcanic belt of Central America and the lowlands of the Pacific coast. Surrounded by fertile arable land, this small, agriculturally based town is home to residents who grow corn, beans, and sugarcane, where the traditional farming culture lives on. Despite its small size, Maplaca is becoming a hidden destination for backpackers looking to explore the Honduran countryside, thanks to its simple people and untouched, untouched landscape. The surrounding savanna and scattered hilly landscapes provide natural delights for bird watching and hiking, and are one of the windows to experience Honduras' native culture.
