Sohar is an important city in northern Oman, located along the Gulf of Oman and adjacent to the Strait of Hormuz, and has been a key hub for trade between the Arabian Peninsula and the Persian Gulf and Indian Ocean since ancient times. Benderi is a city in eastern Moldova, located on the left bank of the Dniester River, historically an important fortress in the Bisarabia region.
