Sheyang is located in Yancheng City, Jiangsu Province, China, which is situated in the North Jiangsu Plain and on the shore of the Yellow Sea, and is an important node city in the northern wing of the Yangtze River Delta Economic Circle. With a total area of about 2,776 square kilometers and a total population of over 970,000, the county is known for its agriculture, new energy sources and eco-tourism.
Sheyang has the longest coastline and mudflat wetlands in Jiangsu, and is known as the "Crane Township" as it is the wintering ground for rare birds such as the red-crowned crane.
