Sevan is a small town in the Armenian province of Gegharkunik, located in the eastern part of the country on the shores of Lake Sevan, about 66 kilometers from the capital city of Yerevan. The town is famous for its eponymous alpine lake, Lake Sevan, one of the largest freshwater lakes in Eurasia, at an altitude of about 1,900 meters above sea level, which is known as the "Pearl of Armenia".
Lake Sevan is surrounded by magnificent landscapes and crystal clear waters, making it an important tourist and recreational destination in Armenia. The town boasts historical monuments such as the Sevan Monastery, a 9th-century monastery situated on a peninsula overlooking the lake, which attracts many tourists and pilgrims. The local economy is based on fishing, tourism and agriculture, and the climate is cool enough for summer vacations.
With a population of around 20,000, the town of Sevan retains its traditional Armenian culture, while the infrastructure is constantly being improved to provide accommodation and catering services. It is an ideal starting point for exploring the nature and history of the Caucasus and is easily accessible for short trips.
Tongren is located in the northeast of Guizhou Province, China, and is an important hub city connecting Hunan, Chongqing and Guizhou. Located in the hinterland of the Wuling Mountains, it is famous for its unique karst landscape and rich natural landscapes, such as the Fanjing Mountain, which has been inscribed on the list of World Natural Heritage. With a total area of about 18,000 square kilometers and a population of about 4.4 million, the region is home to a number of ethnic minorities such as the Tujia, Miao and Dong, with diverse and profound ethnic cultures.
Tongren boasts famous scenic spots such as Fanjing Mountain, Wujiang Canyon and Miao King City, and is extremely rich in ecological resources, with more than 65% of the area covered by forests, making it a national ecological civilization construction demonstration area. The local area is famous for green tea, oil tea and Chinese herbal medicine cultivation, and the economy is based on agriculture, tourism and green industry, with rapid development of ecotourism and recreation industry in recent years.
Tongren has a rich ethnic culture, with traditional festivals such as the Miao "April 8" and the Tujia "Pendulum Dance" held every year. Conveniently located, Tongren Phoenix Airport offers flights to many cities, and the high-speed railway and highway networks make it easy for tourists to visit the city. The city is actively building itself as an international tourist destination, integrating nature, culture and sustainable development.
