Sevan is a small town in the Armenian province of Gegharkunik, located in the eastern part of the country on the shores of Lake Sevan, about 66 kilometers from the capital city of Yerevan. The town is famous for its eponymous alpine lake, Lake Sevan, one of the largest freshwater lakes in Eurasia, at an altitude of about 1,900 meters above sea level, which is known as the "Pearl of Armenia".
Lake Sevan is surrounded by magnificent landscapes and crystal clear waters, making it an important tourist and recreational destination in Armenia. The town boasts historical monuments such as the Sevan Monastery, a 9th-century monastery situated on a peninsula overlooking the lake, which attracts many tourists and pilgrims. The local economy is based on fishing, tourism and agriculture, and the climate is cool enough for summer vacations.
With a population of around 20,000, the town of Sevan retains its traditional Armenian culture, while the infrastructure is constantly being improved to provide accommodation and catering services. It is an ideal starting point for exploring the nature and history of the Caucasus and is easily accessible for short trips.
Located in the eastern part of Liaoning Province, China, Benxi is an important industrial city and tourist destination in Liaoning. It is famous for its rich mineral resources and natural landscape, and is known as the "Steel Capital" and the "Maple Leaf Capital of China". The city covers an area of about 8,411 square kilometers and has a population of about 1.5 million. It has a temperate monsoon climate with four distinct seasons.
Benxi's economy is dominated by the iron and steel, coal and building materials industries, with large enterprises such as the Bensteel Group. Meanwhile, agriculture and tourism are gradually developing, and specialty products such as Benxi ginseng and Chinese herbal medicine enjoy a good reputation.
Benxi Water Cave is the world's longest underground dark river that can be visited by boat, and is listed as a national 5A-level scenic spot. Attractions such as Guanmen Mountain and Wulu Mountain attract tourists with their autumn maple leaves and history and culture. The city is rich in culture, with a mixture of Manchu and Han cultures, and retains a number of historical sites.
Benxi is conveniently located about 70 kilometers from Shenyang, with a well-developed network of high-speed railways and highways. Located in the remaining veins of Changbai Mountain, the terrain is mountainous, rich in natural resources and beautiful environment, suitable for eco-tourism and leisure vacation.
