Zalaid Banner is located in the northeastern part of China's Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, belonging to Xing'an League, and is situated in the transition zone between the southern foothills of the Daxing'anling Mountains and the Songnen Plain. With a total area of 11,000 square kilometers and a resident population of about 400,000, it is an agricultural and animal husbandry flag county with Mongolian as the main body and Han, Manchu and other multi-ethnic groups living together.

Geography and ecological characteristics

The terrain is high in the west and low in the east, belonging to temperate continental monsoon climate, with grassland, woodland and cultivated land diversified ecology. Chuoer River runs through the whole territory, is an important tributary of the Nenjiang River, nourishing high-quality pastures and agricultural areas, known as the "grain silo under the Xing'anling".

Economic and Cultural Characteristics
