Warsaw, the capital, is the political and economic center of the country, with its post-World War II reconstruction and modern skyscrapers, and the Wisła River running through the city, giving it a unique charm. Kraków is a cultural capital, with its medieval Old Town listed as a World Heritage Site, Wawel Castle and Jagiellonian University bearing witness to Poland's glorious history, and a hotbed of art and music.
