Kitega is a city in the center of Burundi, the second largest city in the country, and was once the capital of Germany and Belgium during the colonial period, with a deep history. Located in the highlands of Burundi, with a pleasant climate, it is an important agricultural trade center, and the surrounding area is rich in coffee, tea and other cash crops. There are traditional markets, handicraft workshops and basic education facilities in the city, preserving the architectural style of the colonial period.
