Located in the southern part of the Comoros Islands in the Indian Ocean, Mamoudzou is the administrative, economic and cultural center of Mayotte, with a population of about 60,000 people. As a French Overseas Region, it is a blend of African and French cultures, with Creole architecture, white sandy beaches and coral reefs, and tourism is an important pillar, as well as being known for its vanilla and coconut cultivation.
