Ruby is a small incorporated town in Tangipahoa Parish, Louisiana, United States, located about 60 miles northeast of the state capital of Baton Rouge and adjacent to the Mississippi border, and characterized by a quiet rural atmosphere and a deep community culture. Sparsely populated, with fewer than 500 people according to the most recent census, the town dates back to the late 1800s and, with its early rise to an agricultural economy (e.g., cotton and soybean farming), still retains the rustic look of a traditional Southern town. The town's landmarks include a century-old community church and several Victorian-style homes, and the annual fall "Ruby Family Day," which blends elements of local Cajun and Creole culture, has become a shared memory for the surrounding residents. Despite its small size, Ruby epitomizes the serenity of the American countryside with its simple folk and distinctive Louisiana southern flavor.
Gongliu County is located in the eastern part of Ili Kazakh Autonomous Prefecture, Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, at the northern foot of the Tianshan Mountains and the eastern end of the Ili River Valley, and is known as the "South of the Seas". It is surrounded by the Kuldening National Nature Reserve, which has the world's largest primitive spruce forest belt, and the water system of the Chiapu River nourishes vast grasslands and wetlands, and is a natural treasure trove of wild fruit forests and traditional Chinese medicines. Gongliu is inhabited by many ethnic groups, with Kazakhs, Uyghurs and other folk cultures intermingling, and traditional activities such as Grassland Naadam and Grizzly Sheep Race are full of vitality every year. As an important post on the northern route of the ancient Silk Road, Gongliu not only preserves the historical relics of the ancient state of Usun, but also develops vigorously with ecological agriculture, special fruit and forestry industry (such as apples and apricots) and eco-tourism, and has become a bright pearl integrating the natural scenery, humanistic heritage and green development of the Ili River Valley.
