Ruby is a small incorporated town in Tangipahoa Parish, Louisiana, United States, located about 60 miles northeast of the state capital of Baton Rouge and adjacent to the Mississippi border, and characterized by a quiet rural atmosphere and a deep community culture. Sparsely populated, with fewer than 500 people according to the most recent census, the town dates back to the late 1800s and, with its early rise to an agricultural economy (e.g., cotton and soybean farming), still retains the rustic look of a traditional Southern town. The town's landmarks include a century-old community church and several Victorian-style homes, and the annual fall "Ruby Family Day," which blends elements of local Cajun and Creole culture, has become a shared memory for the surrounding residents. Despite its small size, Ruby epitomizes the serenity of the American countryside with its simple folk and distinctive Louisiana southern flavor.
Dongzhi County is located in the southwestern part of China's Anhui Province, under the city of Chizhou, on the south bank of the Yangtze River, bordering Jiangxi Province. The county has a total area of 3,261 square kilometers and a population of about 550,000 people. As an important node of the Wanjiang City Belt, Dongzhi has a long history and cultural heritage, which was founded in the Western Han Dynasty, and is a typical fish and rice town in the south of the Yangtze River.
Dongzhi is rich in landscape resources, with Shengjin Lake National Nature Reserve (wetland of international importance), Tiantai Mountain Forest Park and other ecological scenic spots. Local tea (Qihong core production area), rice, aquatic products and other agricultural products, known as "Yao Shun's hometown" reputation. Historical sites such as the Great Calendar Mountain and Nanxi Ancient Walled City contrast with the natural scenery.
Dongzhi has initially formed an industrial system dominated by modern agriculture, forestry and green food processing, and at the same time, it is actively developing new energy and tourism and recreation industries. 206 National Highway, 318 National Highway and Anjing Expressway run through the whole territory, and Tongjiu Railway has set up a station, so the transportation network is perfect, and the under-construction Chizhou Yangtze River Bridge will further enhance the regional connectivity.
