Surrounded by dense forests and crystal clear mountain springs, it is an ideal destination for hiking and eco-tourism, especially in summer. The local people still practice handicrafts and traditional folklore, and the annual "Raja Cultural Festival" attracts many visitors to experience the authentic rural life of Northern Macedonia.
Monastir is a seaside city in northeastern Tunisia, located on the Mediterranean coast about 160 kilometers from the capital city of Tunis, and is known as the jewel of the "Côte d'Azur". The city is known for its rich history, pristine beaches and unique Arab-French fusion. The iconic Ribat of Monastir, built in the 8th century AD, was an important military fortress during the Arabian Empire, with its thick walls and watchtowers bearing witness to a thousand years of history, and was one of the locations for the movie Gladiator. The city boasts kilometers of fine sandy beaches with crystal clear waters, making it an ideal destination for tourists to enjoy the sun and sea. The Habib Bourguiba International Airport is located close to the city, providing easy access to international tourists. Monastir is also fascinating for its traditional fishing industry and handicrafts (such as embroidery and pottery), retaining the atmosphere of a quaint Arab bazaar while combining the dynamism of a modern tourist town, representing the perfect blend of culture and nature in Tunisia.
