Puning is a county-level city under the jurisdiction of Jieyang City, Guangdong Province, China, which is located in the coastal economic zone of eastern Guangdong and is one of the important birthplaces of Chaoshan culture. As a famous hometown of overseas Chinese, Puning has about 2 million overseas Chinese, and its economy is mainly based on light industry, commerce and specialty agriculture, with well-developed garment, medicine and food processing industries, and is known as "China's Textile Industry Base".
Puning has a rich cultural heritage, preserving ancient architectural complexes from the Ming and Qing Dynasties, as well as intangible cultural heritages such as English songs and dances and Teochew Opera. Local food culture is rich, Puning bean sauce, beef meatballs and other Chaoshan flavor snacks enjoy a good reputation. The International Shirt Festival and Textile and Garment Expo held annually attracts businessmen from all over the world.
Located in the middle reaches of the Lianjiang River, the city has a southern subtropical monsoon climate and is evergreen in all seasons. It has ecological scenic spots such as Dasan Mountain Forest Park, and specialty agricultural products such as green plums and green olives are famous nationwide. The high-speed railway Puning Station is an important transportation hub in the eastern part of Guangdong, and is about 40 kilometers away from Jieyang Chaoshan International Airport.
Located in the southwestern part of Taichung City, Taiwan, China, Dadu District is one of the important administrative districts in Taichung City. It is bordered by Wurih District in the east, Longjing District in the west, Changhua County in the south and Shalu District in the north, with a total area of about 37 square kilometers. The terrain of the district is dominated by tablelands and plains, and the Dawu River flows through the south side, forming a natural boundary.
The district has a long history, and was an important settlement as early as the Qing Dynasty, deriving its name from the Pingpu community, "Dawu She". There are many cultural relics in the district, such as the Wanxing Palace and the Sulphur Creek Academy, demonstrating the deep cultural heritage of southern Fujian. The economy is based on agriculture and small and medium-sized enterprises, with specialties including watermelons, rice and other agricultural products.
The district has convenient transportation, with Taiwan Avenue and the Zhongshan Expressway running through the whole area, and is about 30 minutes' drive from the center of Taichung City. With the development of the Taichung Science and Technology Corridor in recent years, it has gradually attracted high-tech industry investment and become an emerging development area in Taichung.
