Pendleton is a historic town in Anderson County, South Carolina, United States, located in the northwestern part of the state, about 30 miles from the city of Greenville. The town is known for its well-preserved 19th century architecture and deep cultural heritage.
Founded in 1790, Pendleton is one of the oldest towns in South Carolina. The town center is home to more than 50 historic buildings listed on the National Register of Historic Places, including the Pendleton Borough Historical Museum, built in 1826. The town is also known for the Pendleton Farmstead National Historic Landmark, which showcases a unique look at an early farming community.
Each spring, Pendleton hosts the famous Pendleton Spring Festival, which attracts a large number of visitors who come to experience traditional crafts, music and food. The town is surrounded by beautiful natural landscapes and is close to the Savannah River and the Blue Ridge Mountains, making it ideal for outdoor enthusiasts to hike and fish.
Pendleton's economy is dominated by tourism and small businesses, while its proximity to Clemson University benefits from the radiation of educational resources. Its tranquil atmosphere and rich historical heritage make it a highly sought-after residential and tourist destination in the Upcountry region of South Carolina.
Taihu County is located in the southwestern part of Anhui Province, at the southern foot of the Dabie Mountains, belonging to the city of Anqing, located at the junction of Anhui and Jiangxi Provinces, and is named after one of the five freshwater lakes of China, Taihu Lake (part of the waters), which is known as "the second Mount Lushan". It has a long history, more than 1,400 years since the county was established in the Southern Dynasty, with a rich cultural heritage, and is one of the birthplaces of Zen culture, where the hometown of Zhao Puchu is located, and its spirit of "harmony" has been passed down to this day. The Hua Ting Lake is a national 4A level scenic spot, where the lakes and mountains contrast with each other, and the islands are scattered everywhere, which is known as the "Oriental Geneva"; there are attractions such as Xibianshan Mountain and Five Thousand Years Cultural Expo Park in the vicinity, where the nature and humanities are blended together. Taihu Lake is also an ecologically pleasant place to live, with high forest coverage, producing famous teas such as Tianhua Gujian and Jianhao, and synergistic development of agriculture and tourism. Convenient transportation, Hejiu Railway, Shanghai and Chongqing Expressway, Beijing and Hong Kong High Speed Railway through the territory, is an important ecological and cultural tourism node in southwest Anhui Province.
