Ouagadougou, the capital and largest city of Burkina Faso, is located in the central plain of the country and is the political, economic and cultural center and transportation hub of the country. With a population of about 2.3 million, the city enjoys a distinctive savannah climate with two seasons, wet and dry, and an average annual temperature of around 28°C. The city is a blend of tradition and modernity. As a city where tradition meets modernity, its handicraft markets (such as the Grand Market) are famous for leather and copperware, and the annual FESPACO Pan-African Film Festival is one of the most important film events in Africa. The economy is based on textiles and food processing, and the surrounding agriculture is rich in cotton and peanuts. The city's combination of French colonial architecture and indigenous features make it a gateway to explore West African history and culture.
São Tomé and Príncipe is an island country in west-central Africa, consisting of the islands of São Tomé and Príncipe and the surrounding islets, with the capital, São Tomé, located in the northeastern part of São Tomé. Located on the Gulf of Guinea, about 200 kilometers from the African continent, the country was colonized by Portugal in the 15th century and became independent in 1975, with Portuguese as the official language and an economy based on agriculture (cocoa, palm oil) and tourism. It should be noted that "Java" is not a city or region of the country; Java is the main island of Indonesia, with cities such as Jakarta and Surabaya, and has nothing to do with São Tomé and Príncipe, possibly due to a confusion of names.
