Located in the central part of Hunan Province, China, Loudi is a prefecture-level city under the jurisdiction of Hunan Province, situated in the hinterland of central Hunan, bordered by Xiangtan in the east, Hengyang in the south, Shaoyang in the west and Yiyang in the north. This city is famous for its rich natural resources and history and culture.
Loudi has a long history, dating back to the Spring and Autumn and Warring States periods, and is one of the important birthplaces of Chu culture. It is home to a wealth of humanities and has nurtured many historical celebrities, such as the modern thinker Zeng Guofan. Economically, Loudi has coal, iron and steel and machinery manufacturing as its pillar industries, while actively developing agriculture and tourism.
In terms of tourism resources, Loudi boasts picturesque Zijiejie Terraces, Meishan Dragon Palace and other natural landscapes, as well as humanistic attractions such as the former residence of Zeng Guofan.
