Lianyungang is located in the northeastern part of Jiangsu Province, China, which is an important coastal open city and the eastern bridgehead of the New Asia-Europe Continental Bridge. Bordering on the Yellow Sea in the east, the Central Plains in the west, Qilu in the north and Jianghuai in the south, Lianyungang enjoys a favorable geographical position. Lianyungang has a long history and is the birthplace of the culture of Journey to the West, combining mountain and sea, harbor, hot springs and cultural tourism resources.
As one of the first coastal open cities in China, Lianyungang is an important port city and regional logistics center in Jiangsu. Lianyungang Port is one of the major ports in China, connecting Central Asia and Europe, and contributing to the construction of "One Belt, One Road". The economy is based on port logistics, petrochemicals, equipment manufacturing and tourism.
Famous attractions in Lianyungang include Huaguo Mountain (the prototype site of Journey to the West), Liandao Seaside Bathing Beach and Kongwang Mountain Scenic Area. The city has a deep cultural heritage, featuring marine, Journey to the West and Huai Salt cultures, a pleasant climate and abundant produce, making it a popular destination for tourism and investment.
São Tomé and Príncipe is an island country in west-central Africa, consisting of the islands of São Tomé and Príncipe and the surrounding islets, with the capital, São Tomé, located in the northeastern part of São Tomé. Located on the Gulf of Guinea, about 200 kilometers from the African continent, the country was colonized by Portugal in the 15th century and became independent in 1975, with Portuguese as the official language and an economy based on agriculture (cocoa, palm oil) and tourism. It should be noted that "Java" is not a city or region of the country; Java is the main island of Indonesia, with cities such as Jakarta and Surabaya, and has nothing to do with São Tomé and Príncipe, possibly due to a confusion of names.
