Leitrakan is an important town in the central region of Botswana, located about 150 kilometers northwest of the country's capital, Gaborone. As the main administrative and commercial center of the Catron District, Leitrakan is situated on the edge of the Kalahari Desert and combines a unique blend of natural landscapes and human characteristics.
Leitrakan is surrounded by typical African savanna landscapes and is rich in wildlife. The area has a semi-arid climate, and during the rainy season the grass and trees flourish, making it a habitat for many wild animals. A number of nature reserves are dotted around the town, offering visitors the opportunity to see African wildlife.
The economy of Letrakan is based on livestock and agriculture, while the developing tourism industry is becoming a new growth area. The area retains a rich traditional Tswana culture, with handicraft making and traditional music and dance being an important part of the community's culture. The town has a good infrastructure with hospitals, schools and commercial facilities serving the surrounding rural areas.
Located on a major transportation artery linking Botswana's major cities, Leitrakan is an ideal base from which to explore the central region. From here, visitors can access the surrounding game reserves and traditional cultural villages to experience authentic Botswana country life and nature.
São Tomé and Príncipe is an island country in west-central Africa, consisting of the islands of São Tomé and Príncipe and the surrounding islets, with the capital, São Tomé, located in the northeastern part of São Tomé. Located on the Gulf of Guinea, about 200 kilometers from the African continent, the country was colonized by Portugal in the 15th century and became independent in 1975, with Portuguese as the official language and an economy based on agriculture (cocoa, palm oil) and tourism. It should be noted that "Java" is not a city or region of the country; Java is the main island of Indonesia, with cities such as Jakarta and Surabaya, and has nothing to do with São Tomé and Príncipe, possibly due to a confusion of names.
