Kangle County is located in the south of Linxia Hui Autonomous Prefecture, Gansu Province, China, in the transition zone between the Loess Plateau and the Tibetan Plateau, with an average altitude of about 2,000 meters. It has a long history and was an important passage on the ancient Silk Road. It has a rich ethnic culture, dominated by Hui and Han Chinese. Kangle County has beautiful natural scenery, and the Lotus Mountain National Forest Park, famous for its unique Danxia landforms and forested landscapes, is a popular destination for eco-tourism. The local economy is mainly based on agriculture, with an abundance of Chinese herbal medicines and animal husbandry products, especially the "Kangle Cow" brand, which enjoys a high reputation. In addition, Kangle County retains intangible cultural heritages such as the traditional flower folk songs, which attract culture lovers to visit.
Located in the northernmost tip of Yilan County, Taiwan Province of China, Toucheng is the oldest town in Yilan County, and was the first city of Kailan in the Qing Dynasty. Bordering the Pacific Ocean to the east, it boasts natural landscapes such as Turtle Island and Toucheng Beach, as well as humanistic sites such as the Old Street of Toucheng and Qingyuan Palace. Agriculture is based on rice, green onions and garlic, and fishing is well developed, with Wushi Harbor being an important fishing and sightseeing port. The Toucheng Orphan Robbery Folklore Event is held every year, which is classified as an important intangible cultural asset.
Toucheng is connected to New Taipei City in the north and Jiaoxi Township in the south, with the Yilan Line of the Taiwan Railway and National Highway No. 5 running through the whole area, and is about 50 minutes' drive from Taipei City, making it a popular sightseeing town in Northern Taiwan. The jurisdiction includes Turtle Island, which covers an area of about 100 square kilometers.
Toucheng integrates marine and humanistic tourism resources, where you can enjoy whales and dolphins on Gushan Island, experience surfing at Wushi Harbor, and appreciate the mixed architectural style of Toucheng's Old Street, as well as attractions such as the Dali Tien Kung Temple and the Lanyang Museum, which form a dynamic line of mountain, sea, and humanistic tourism.
