Jishan County is located in the southwestern part of Shanxi Province in China, belonging to Yuncheng City, and is situated at the confluence of the lower Fen River and the Yellow River Delta. The county is known for its agriculture, and is the place where Houji, the founder of agriculture in ancient China, taught his people how to gather crops, with a long history and deep cultural heritage. Jishan is an important grain-producing area in Shanxi, producing wheat, corn and specialty jujubes, and is known as the "Granary of Jinnan" and the "Hometown of Jujubes".
Jishan County is rich in cultural heritage, such as the historical monuments of JI Wang Temple and Dafo Temple, as well as the traditional paper-cutting and face-molding crafts. Conveniently located near Houma City and Yuncheng Airport, its economy is based on agriculture, food processing and tourism, making it an ideal destination for experiencing the culture of southern Jin and the countryside.
