São Tomé and Príncipe is an island country in west-central Africa, consisting of the islands of São Tomé and Príncipe and the surrounding islets, with the capital, São Tomé, located in the northeastern part of São Tomé. Located on the Gulf of Guinea, about 200 kilometers from the African continent, the country was colonized by Portugal in the 15th century and became independent in 1975, with Portuguese as the official language and an economy based on agriculture (cocoa, palm oil) and tourism. It should be noted that "Java" is not a city or region of the country; Java is the main island of Indonesia, with cities such as Jakarta and Surabaya, and has nothing to do with São Tomé and Príncipe, possibly due to a confusion of names.
Located in Yuncheng City, Shanxi Province, China, the Shanxi Salt Lake is one of the oldest salt lakes in China, with a history of over 4,000 years of mining. Covering an area of about 130 square kilometers, this inland salt lake is known as the "Dead Sea of China" for its abundance of sodium sulfate-type salt, known as the "Dead Sea of China".
The salt lake is rich in many minerals and trace elements, and will naturally crystallize in summer to form white "nitrate flower" spectacle. It is not only an important chemical raw material base in China, but also developed floating experience, black mud health and other special tourism projects. Yuncheng Salt Lake is one of the three largest sodium sulfate inland salt lakes in the world, and the Dead Sea in Israel.
Local salt lake recreation resort has been built, tourists can experience the magical floating on the water, feel the unique charm of unsinkable lake water. Around the Salt Lake, there is still the ancient technique of watering and sunning salt in the reclaimed borders, which is listed in the national intangible cultural heritage list.
