São Tomé and Príncipe is an island country in west-central Africa, consisting of the islands of São Tomé and Príncipe and the surrounding islets, with the capital, São Tomé, located in the northeastern part of São Tomé. Located on the Gulf of Guinea, about 200 kilometers from the African continent, the country was colonized by Portugal in the 15th century and became independent in 1975, with Portuguese as the official language and an economy based on agriculture (cocoa, palm oil) and tourism. It should be noted that "Java" is not a city or region of the country; Java is the main island of Indonesia, with cities such as Jakarta and Surabaya, and has nothing to do with São Tomé and Príncipe, possibly due to a confusion of names.
Sangri County is located in Shannan City, Tibet Autonomous Region of China, situated in the middle valley of the Yarlung Zangbo River, with an average altitude of about 3,560 meters. The county is bordered by Gacha County in the east and Naidong District in the west, with a total area of about 2,634 square kilometers. Sangri means "Copper Mountain" in Tibetan, and is named after the rich copper resources in history.
Sangri County is dominated by Tibetan culture and has a deep religious heritage. Famous attractions include the Dansatie Monastery (the ancestral monastery of the Patrul Kagyu sect of Tibetan Buddhism), the Wokha Hot Springs and the Yarlung Tsangpo River Grand Canyon. The local economy is based on agriculture and animal husbandry, with barley and yak farming as traditional industries, and ecotourism has gradually developed in recent years.
The region is a plateau temperate semi-arid climate, with abundant sunshine and large temperature difference between day and night. Sangri County is an important corridor connecting Shannan and Linzhi, with National Highway 318 running through the whole territory, and the transportation convenience continues to improve, providing a unique destination for tourists to explore Tibetan culture and plateau natural scenery.
